With Bloomberg announcing a 24/7 live streamed news service to be hosted on Twitter, my quest for a completely live-streamed life seems to be closer than ever. For the last two years, my household has been completely cable-free (we don’t even have a landline) and I can't see that changing any time soon.

We’re the typical millennial household: cell phones, tablets, laptops and streaming. With two recovering-news junkies, we also consume our fair share of news through livestreams, such as CBC’s The National, or going through daily videos released through CNN, MSNBC, and BBC through my ever-running YouTube app. I have my usual podcasts daily podcasts that I listen to on my walk to work and a running playlist through 8tracks and Spotify. Chopped plays on our iPad is the accompaniment to our dinner preparation and before bed, our P24 runs the latest episode of Riverdale or whatever else we’re binging on Netflix.

A Well-Streamed Life

And now, Bloomberg is getting into the streaming game. Partnering with Twitter, Bloomberg is going to create a news channel to be hosted on the social media giant’s platform that will be available 24/7 and free. My missing piece, US news, finally coming to a close. Bloomberg and Twitter have captured on the streaming culture that appeals to majority of those under 35.

The Bloomberg and Twitter partnership is just one of many as CBC utilizes Facebook and NBC livestreams events like the 2016 election on YouTube. SnapChat and Instagram also have news and media presence with new channels being added regularly.  And for this avid livestreamer, I can’t wait.
