If you want to get into the festive spirit this holiday season, you need to visit Kitchener City Hall. The site has been magically transformed into a #HolidayGreetingCardToTheCommunity thanks to Christie Digital.
The Kitchener-based company used projection mapping to display images on the building surfaces at the City Hall in 4K resolution that is sure to impress.
Consistently setting the standards by being the first to market some of the world’s most advanced projectors and complete system displays, Christie is recognized as one of the most innovative visual technology companies in the world.
The show is Christie’s gift to the city, which used City Hall buildings as an enormous canvas on which to share this gift with the community.
Show Details:
- There are four shows that take place on the hour every evening beginning at 7:00pm - 10:05pm.
- The show will run until December 31, 2016, however there are now shows on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day.
- The light shows will also be part of annual New Year’s Eve celebrations outside City Hall, Dec. 31, from 6 p.m. to midnight.
- The custom-tailored holiday-themed music and videos are free, however, the community is encouraged to support friends and neighbours in need by texting TREE to 30333 to donate $5 to Family and Children’s Services of Waterloo Region.
